Which are the next walls to fall? The aim of the Falling Walls Foundation is to remove the great hurdles of our time, such as the ubiquitous scepticism about founding a start-up – especially in Germany. Within the framework of the workshop “Young Entrepreneurs in Science”, doctoral students were introduced to the topic of company foundation in an interactive 5-day program. Our doctoral student Alexander Tafel took part — and won the final competition. Together with Torben Schindler and Matthias Förster, he has developed a business model for nano-diamonds and can now look forward to the award, a ticket for the “Falling Walls Conference” worth €1535. In addition, the team may present the company idea to a top-class jury at the “Falling Walls Venture” and hope for further prizes.
