Our former doctoral student and postdoc Dr. Michael Krüger received one of the coveted research grants of the European Research Council (ERC) and was recently appointed assistant professor at the Technion in Haifa, the Technical University of Israel – two outstanding successes.

With the 1.69 million euros, Dr. Krüger and his team will attempt to record the dynamics of electrons in molecules and nanostructures in extremely high resolution in the attosecond and nanometer range. In this way, they want to gain deep insights into chemical and physical processes, in particular into quantum mechanical mechanisms that allow several electrons to interact with each other.

We are very happy about this success as well as Dr. Michael Krüger’s call for a professorship at the renowned Technion and wish him all the best for the future.
