“Quantum gravity and holographic dualities”.
Holographic dualities conjecture the equivalence of certain quantum gravity and quantum field theories. This highly non-trivial idea offers a route to on the one hand define quantum gravity via standard QFT techniques, and on the other hand to use the duality to better understand strongly coupled interacting QFTs. After a short review of the concept of holographic dualities and some examples, we will discuss ongoing work in tackling the question of how precisely “quantum” fits on the gravity side of the duality and how the quantumness of gravity is reflected in the QFT.
