DESCRIPTION:Ankündigung des Promotionsvortrags von: Herrn Klaus Götz
The functionality of nanostructured surfaces is closely tied to their
precise structure. Therefore\, a detailed understanding of the atomic
and molecular interactions that occur during fabrication is central t
o the further development of these materials. The defense talk will pr
ovide insight into two such systems. The first system involves TiO₂
surfaces functionalized with dye molecules\, which can be used in dye-
sensitized solar cells. The focus here is on coating the TiO₂ surfac
es with stabilizing mole-cules and subsequently replacing them with mo
lecular dyes. The first step of coating with stabilizer molecules is i
ntended to serve as a model system for the surface of nanoparticles. T
he second system consists of atomically defined layers of transition m
etal dichalcogenides on self-assembled monolayers of functionalized or
ganic molecules. Particular focus here is on the nucleation behavior o
f SnS₂ on 3-mercaptopropyl-trimethoxysilane (MPTMS) within the frame
work of so-called solution-based atomic layer deposition (sALD). This
technique enables the synthesis of atomic layers from a wet chemical s
ystem. X-ray reflectometry was chosen as the primary method for analyz
ing these systems. This tech-nique allows the contributions of the var
ious molecular components to the electron density profile to be extrac
ted\, thereby enabling quantitative statements about the exact structu
re of the layers. (Vortrag auf Englisch) Dem Vortrag schließt sich ei
ne Diskussion von 15 Minuten an. Vortrag und Diskussion sind öffentli
ch. Diesen Verfahrensteilen folgt ein nicht öffentliches Rigorosum vo
 n 45 Minuten.
